From September 22nd to 25th, 2026, Fortaleza hosted the 50th ANPAD Annual Meeting. The University of Fortaleza (UNIFOR) served as host institution for an edition that brought together researchers, faculty members, students, and practitioners under the theme “ANPAD’s 50th Anniversary: Rethinking, Reinventing, and Reimagining the Administrative, Accounting, and Related Sciences – A Manifesto for the Next 50 Years of Management Research in Brazil.”
The meeting received 3,331 research submissions, and 2,888 reviewers completed 6,767 reviews. In total, 1,523 research works were presented, drawing more than 2,100 participants and more than 250 national and international speakers and panelists. The program included more than 390 research presentation sessions and more than 90 divisional and interdivisional activities.
September 22nd, the day before the official opening, was devoted entirely to Professional Development Workshops (PDWs). For the first time in EnANPAD history, the program set aside a full day for this format, designed to exchange experiences, advance research, and engage with journal editors. The program included the AOM Paper Development Workshop, with participation from the journals AMJ, AMLE, AMP, and AMR; the HRMJ PDW: New Vistas for Human Resource Management Research in the Global South; and the PDW of the Journal of Business Ethics. In addition to this dedicated day, other PDW activities were held on the following days of the event.
The official opening took place on September 23rd and featured awards, tributes, and cultural activities. The event recognized the Best Reviewers for the journals RAC and BAR, the Best Paper in each Academic Division, the Best Paper of the annual meeting, the Best Technical-Technological Product (PTT), and the Lifetime Academic Achievement Award.
As part of ANPAD’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, the ceremony featured the presentation of plaques to the organization’s 10 founding programs, posthumous tributes to professors who left a mark on its history, and the presentation of medals to those who contributed to the organization’s creation and growth over the past five decades.
The opening’s cultural program featured a cordel poet, creating a link to Northeastern Brazilian culture and to the host city.
ANPAD’s 2027 schedule was also announced on the first day of the meeting. The Divisional Events will be held at ESPM in São Paulo, Brazil, and will bring together the 11th EMA, the 9th EnEDP, and the 33rd SITE. EnANPAD 2027 will be hosted by UNAMA in Belém, Brazil.
On the following days, the scientific program featured paper presentations, lectures, panels, meetings, and activities organized by ANPAD’s Academic Divisions. The 3rd EnANPAD Professional was also part of the program, creating more opportunities for dialogue between academic research and its application across a range of organizational settings. This edition recorded 266 Technical-Technological Products (PTT) submitted, 156 reviewers involved, 45 PTTs accepted for presentation, and seven activities held.
The meeting included coffee breaks between sessions. At the opening cocktail reception, the organizers incorporated elements of regional cuisine and provided options for participants with different dietary restrictions.
September 25th marked the close of the 50th ANPAD Meeting and the celebrations of the Brazilian Academy of Management’s 50th anniversary. Over the four days of the program, the meeting fostered discussions on a wide range of research topics, enabled knowledge sharing, strengthened collaboration networks, and brought together generations of researchers to reflect on the field’s present and future.
As it reaches 50 years, ANPAD reaffirms its commitment to advancing research and graduate education in Management, Accounting, and related fields. EnANPAD 2026 concludes, leaving contributions that extend beyond the days of the meeting, through the debates held, the connections made, and the research agendas that the academic community will continue to build.
