ANPAD Youth: Engagement and Opportunities for Young Researchers

During the opening of EnANPAD 2024, ANPAD officially launched ANPAD Youth, an initiative aimed at engaging and training student researchers. The movement seeks to encourage the active participation of students from associated graduate programs, bringing them closer to the dynamics of the association and promoting academic volunteering as a tool for personal and professional development. 

With actions planned to connect students to academic life and ANPAD activities, ANPAD Youth is already making a difference. During the announcement, ANPAD’s Director of Communications and Publications, Professor Patrícia Guarnieri, revealed an exclusive T-shirt for the movement and shared a new feature: the first 10 volunteers who registered to support EnANPAD 2024 won a T-shirt.

ANPAD Youth is an invitation for all master’s and doctoral students to become more deeply involved with the association. Along with developing volunteer activities, we want to hear their opinions and, based on this active listening, create actions that directly address their challenges. We believe that involving these researchers from the beginning of their academic careers prepares them for future responsibilities and enables them to influence the course of science and academia in Brazil. 

Our commitment is to contribute to the education of these students, preparing them to lead and guide ANPAD in the coming years. We aim to offer an enriching experience that not only contributes to the sustainability of ANPAD but also promotes greater representation within the academic community. By integrating students with diverse profiles from different programs and regions of Brazil, we foster inclusion and the construction of a more pluralistic science connected to the real needs of the research field.
