International journal invites researchers to submit papers for special issues on responsible and open science

The Pacific-Basin Finance Journal (PBFJ) is accepting paper submissions until December 31st, 2028, for inclusion in a coordinated collection of four Virtual Special Issues on the theme “Open and Responsible Science in Action”.

The journal

Internationally recognized in the field of finance, the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal brings together academic research from different economic contexts, promoting the exchange of scientific knowledge and contributing to the advancement of studies in the field.

Topics Covered

The initiative seeks to bring together research that advances more transparent, responsible, and collaborative practices in Finance research, adopting Open Science and Responsible Science practices.

Papers that provide concrete exemples of Responsible and Open Science in Asia-Pacific finance research are especially welcome. Each submitted article is expected to demonstrate Open and Responsible Science in action, rather than merely discussing the ideas on paper. Submissions may be reflective, empirical, conceptual, or based on case studies

The portfolio comprises four coordinated Virtual Special Issues, each focusing on distinct geographic and thematic perspectives: Asia-Pacific Frontiers; Africa, Europe and Global South Perspectives; Pre-registration, Replication and Open Science Methods; and Research Training, Capacity Building and Scholarly Ecosystems.

Submissions process and deadlines

Authors must first submit an expression of interest to the guest editors and, upon approval, submit a brief study proposal. Submissions will undergo the journal’s review process and must meet the criteria of scientific contribution, methodological quality, transparency, and relevance to the field of Finance.

Submissions are open until December 31st, 2028. For more information, please visit the ScienceDirect website.
