The Brazilian Academy of Management (ANPAD) announces its 2025 Divisional Conferences, to be held from June 11 to 13 at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) in Goiânia/GO. Organized by three of ANPAD’s eleven divisions and interest groups – Organizational Studies (EOR), Public Administration (APB), and Operations Management and Logistics (GOL) – these important forums will discuss and develop research in Administration. They bring together researchers, professors, graduate students, and professionals interested in the themes.
This year’s meetings will explore pressing topics shaping the future of management, emphasizing artificial intelligence, digital transformation, the climate crisis, and climate volatility. Find all details for each meeting below:
12th ANPAD Organizational Studies Conference (EnEO 2025)
With the central theme “Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms and Digital Colonialism: challenges and impacts on Management,” EnEO 2025 invites a critical reflection on the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithm-mediated management on organizations and society.
The event will explore the concept of “digital colonialism,” emphasizing how AI, often developed in Global North countries, can impose linguistic models that perpetuate global inequalities. It will also address the phenomenon of “academic writing automation” and its implications for research practices in the field of administration. The conference will investigate how these issues influence teaching, practice, and research while examining challenges in organizational learning, ethics, privacy, and governance.
The keynote speaker, Professor Tânia Fischer, is a leading scholar in administration, with vast academic experience and involvement in social impact projects. She is a full professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), an emeritus researcher at CNPq, and a full member of the Bahian Academy of Sciences. She also served as ANPAD’s administrative director (1989–1990) and president-elect (1991–1992).
10th ANPAD Public Administration Conference (EnAPG 2025)
The central theme of EnAPG 2025 will be “Public Administration in the 21st Century: the challenges of Digital Transformation, the Climate Crisis, and Democracies.” This event promotes a critical examination of the urgent issues shaping contemporary public administration. Topics will include the climate crisis, the need for sustainable public policies, and the defense of democracy and civic participation.
Digital transformation is reshaping public administration globally, fostering greater transparency and efficiency. In Brazil, digitizing public processes and adopting new technologies, such as blockchain and AI, present both opportunities and challenges. Key themes will include data security, digital inclusion, and equitable access to public services.
The keynote speaker, Professor Lucas Gonzaléz, holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame and has extensive international experience in the fields of democracy and governance. He is a full professor at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín and a senior researcher at the Universidad Católica Argentina. His work focuses on the intersections of politics, public administration, and social transformation.
24th Symposium of Production Management, Logistics, and International Operations (SIMPOI 2025)
SIMPOI 2025 will focus on the theme “Climate Volatility: Redefining Global Operations and Logistics Management.” This symposium invites scholars and practitioners to reflect on the impacts of climate volatility on global operations and logistics – an increasingly critical issue amid climate change and rising unpredictability in the business environment. The event will highlight the need for new approaches to risk management and for adopting sustainable and innovative practices in operations and logistics.
Topics will include the application of digital transformation and emerging technologies, such as automation and artificial intelligence, to build more resilient and sustainable supply chains. The circular economy will be a key focus, encouraging the adoption of regenerative resource management models.
The keynote speaker, Professor Ely Laureano Paiva, is a globally recognized expert in operations and logistics. A full professor at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EAESP), he has extensive academic experience at international institutions and a strong research track record in operations management and supply chain strategy. From 2015 to 2017, he served as ANPAD’s scientific director.
