The 86th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM 2026) brought together nearly 10,000 management researchers and scholars from July 31st to August 4th, 2026, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. With more than 3,000 in-person sessions and 685 on-demand activities, the world’s largest gathering in the field of management and organizations also marked a special moment for the Brazilian academic community.
An evening of meetings and connections
On August 1st, ANPAD hosted the Brazilian Reception during the AOM Annual Meeting. The event brought together researchers, faculty members, students, and representatives of academic associations from several countries in an atmosphere of collaboration, dialogue, and new connections.
The reception let longtime colleagues reconnect and opened the door to conversations that brought the Brazilian community closer to researchers and institutions worldwide. Throughout the evening, participants shared experiences, discussed opportunities for cooperation, and strengthened ties that may lead to future initiatives in research, academic exchange, and international collaboration.
This was the second edition of the Brazilian Reception hosted by ANPAD during the AOM Annual Meeting; the first took place in Boston in 2023. The initiative’s growth and growing attendance of researchers, partners, and academic leaders highlight the importance of international cooperation in strengthening management science and research.
Partners and supporters
The Academy of Management Community Accelerator Program (AOM-CAP), a strategic partner of ANPAD since early 2026, supported the reception. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to expanding the Brazilian academic community’s international engagement and to strengthening connections among researchers, institutions, and global knowledge networks.
ANPAD also thanks the partner institutions that believed in this initiative, helped make it possible, and attended the reception:
UNINOVE (PPGP and PPGA)
FEA-USP
Insper
Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC)
FGV EAESP
FGV EBAPE
PUCPR
Professors, coordinators, and leaders from these institutions were essential in strengthening this space for engagement and expanding the Brazilian academic community’s presence on the international stage.
Recognition: AOM-CAP Excellence in Engagement Award

During the AOM 2026 program, Professor Emílio José Montero Arruda Filho, President of ANPAD, received the Excellence in Engagement Award from the AOM Community Accelerator Program (AOM-CAP). The award honors his leadership, dedication, and contributions to advancing the program’s mission and goals.
The honor represents not only an individual achievement but also the growing presence of ANPAD and the Brazilian academic community in international forums for the production and dissemination of knowledge.
May the meetings and conversations that began in Philadelphia spark new research, projects, exchanges, and lasting partnerships. ANPAD remains committed to connecting people, strengthening collaborative networks, and increasing the visibility of Brazilian scientific output worldwide.
