Pre-Event and Doctoral Consortium kick off discussions for EnANPAD 2026

April – June 2026 Edition | Volume 6, Issue 2

On September 9 and 10, ANPAD will hold the 24th Doctoral Consortium and open the EnANPAD 2026 Pre-Event program. These free, online activities serve as a preview of the discussions that will take place at EnANPAD 2026 and of the reflections marking the organization’s 50th-anniversary celebration.

Open to the academic community and to anyone interested in research and graduate education, the Pre-Event and the Doctoral Consortium offer opportunities to exchange experiences, expand knowledge, and participate in debates that will help shape the next chapters of research in management, accounting, and related fields in Brazil.

More than simply a lead-up to the in-person meeting taking place September 23–25 in Fortaleza (CE), these initiatives are an invitation for students, researchers, and faculty to join the discussions that will be at the heart of EnANPAD 2026.

A preview of the 50th-Anniversary discussions

EnANPAD 2026’s central theme is:

“ANPAD’s 50th Anniversary: Rethinking, reinventing, and reimagining the management, accounting, and related sciences — A manifesto for the next 50 years of management research in Brazil”

The theme invites the academic community to look back on the trajectory built over the past five decades and to reflect on the challenges that will shape the field’s future.

Celebrating ANPAD’s 50th anniversary goes beyond revisiting achievements and milestones. It is also an opportunity to discuss collectively which questions we want to answer, which topics deserve our attention, and how research can help us understand and transform the reality we live in.

In this context, the Pre-Event and the Doctoral Consortium broaden the space for dialogue and the exchange of ideas, previewing debates that will continue throughout EnANPAD 2026.

ANPAD 2026 Pre-Event: Discussions leading up to EnANPAD

Traditionally held before EnANPAD, the ANPAD Pre-Event opens the discussions that will define the 2026 edition. These free online activities invite the academic community to participate in debates that will help shape the next 50 years of research in management, accounting, and related fields, offering an early look at reflections on the meeting’s central theme.

The program will bring together activities focused on topics related to EnANPAD 2026, creating opportunities to deepen conversations, share perspectives, and connect people researching and studying different areas within the field of management.

Because it is held virtually, the Pre-Event broadens access to these discussions and enables participation by people across different regions of the country.

Information about the program and guest speakers will be announced soon on ANPAD’s website.

Doctoral Consortium reaches its 24th edition

On September 9 and 10, 2026, ANPAD will also hold the 24th Doctoral Consortium, a forum dedicated to advancing doctoral research and fostering the exchange of experiences among researchers and students.

This year’s edition will be coordinated by Prof. Márcia Maria dos Santos Bortolocci Espejo (PPGAd/UFMS).

Created in 2003, the Doctoral Consortium has become one of ANPAD’s most established initiatives for researcher training. Over more than two decades, the event has helped refine dissertation projects and build connections across programs and institutions.

A space to learn, share, and strengthen research

The Doctoral Consortium was designed as an environment for the collective construction of knowledge.

During the event, doctoral students present their dissertation projects and receive feedback from researchers and practitioners experienced in the relevant topics. Rather than simply evaluating projects, the sessions aim to stimulate reflection, offer new perspectives, and contribute to the maturation of ongoing research.

The event also strengthens connections among participants from different institutions and disciplines, expanding opportunities for academic collaboration.

In keeping with the spirit of ANPAD’s 50th-anniversary theme, the Doctoral Consortium welcomes diverse theoretical, methodological, and epistemological perspectives and values the range of approaches that characterize research in management and accounting.

Join the Doctoral Consortium

Submissions for dissertation proposals have closed, but anyone wishing to attend the presentations and discussions is still welcome to participate.

Sessions will be streamed via Zoom and can be watched free of charge by anyone interested.

Access links will be released the week of the event.

For master’s and doctoral students and early-career researchers, this is an opportunity to learn about ongoing research, follow high-quality academic discussions, and gain insight into the dissertation development process.

Become a Volunteer

Registration is also open to students who wish to volunteer at the 2026 Doctoral Consortium.

Participation is entirely online and open to students affiliated with graduate programs in management, accounting, or related fields.

In addition to helping run the event, volunteers will have the opportunity to closely follow the activities, expand their professional network, and receive a certificate of participation reflecting the hours completed.

An opportunity to help shape ANPAD’s next 50 years

By bringing together students, researchers, and faculty for free, open activities, the Pre-Event and the Doctoral Consortium extend the reach of the discussions that will define EnANPAD 2026 and reinforce ANPAD’s commitment to training researchers and strengthening the academic community.

Whether by following the Pre-Event debates, attending the Doctoral Consortium sessions, or volunteering, the community will have the opportunity to take an active part in the reflections that will help shape the next chapters of research in management, accounting, and related fields in Brazil.

Follow ANPAD’s website for the full Pre-Event and Doctoral Consortium program, access links, and all updates on activities leading up to EnANPAD 2026.
