ANPAD Divisional Events 2026: Three days of scientific output, encounters, and recognition

April – June 2026 Edition | Volume 6, Issue 2

From June 9 to 11, 2026, FGV-EAESP in São Paulo (SP) hosted ANPAD’s Divisional Events. The annual gathering brought together three of the organization’s leading academic divisions for three days of presentations, debates, and exchanges among researchers from across Brazil and abroad:

  • 11th ANPAD Strategic Management Conference – 3Es 2026
  • 9th ANPAD Conference on Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations – EnGPR 2026
  • 9th ANPAD Management Information Systems Conference – EnATI 2026

The event’s figures reflect its scale:

  • More than 350 papers presented
  • More than 500 participants across the three academic divisions
  • 105 paper presentation sessions
  • 37 national and international speakers and panelists

Throughout the event, researchers split their time among paper presentations, workshops, activities, and informal exchanges. In this shared community space, the collective spirit of the academic divisions was reaffirmed, strengthening the management research community.

11th ANPAD Strategic Management Conference – 3Es 2026

Promoted by the Brazilian Academy of Management – ANPAD and led by the Strategy Division (ESO), 3Es 2026 focused on the theme “Strategy in the Age of AI: Opportunities and Challenges.” The event examined how artificial intelligence is reshaping how companies compete, innovate, and make decisions, opening new research frontiers in strategy.

The keynote speaker, Daniel S. Andrews, an assistant professor at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University (USA), delivered the address “Progress or Perish: Exploring the Nexus in Management Research.” Andrews, who earned his PhD from Florida International University in 2021, focuses his research on global strategy and the interactions between organizations and their institutional and competitive environments. He is the author of articles in journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of International Business Studies, and the Academy of Management Review. He has received honors including the Alan M. Rugman Junior Scholar Award from the Academy of International Business.

The keynote speaker, Michelle Mielly, a professor at EM Lyon Business School (France), delivered the address “From Periphery to Premonition: Violence, Organization, and the Imperial Boomerang — What the Global South Reveals about the Future of Organizations.” An American anthropologist specializing in development and intercultural studies, Mielly has fieldwork experience in West Africa and Central America. Her research focuses on the relationships among identity, diversity, and community across organizational and cultural settings. Her academic path began with her doctoral dissertation, The Aesthetics of Necessity: Reconsidering Culture and Development in Contemporary Africa, which examined the postcolonial condition within a West African social movement organization based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. That fieldwork laid the foundation for her later analysis of what she calls the “imperial boomerang effect,” a concept documented by thinkers such as Césaire, Arendt, and Foucault.

Institutional Support

The 2026 Divisional Events were supported by ANPAD’s partner institutions. FGV-EAESP, the host institution, provided its facilities for all three conferences. CAPES participated as an institutional supporter, continuing its longstanding partnership with ANPAD’s events.

For the first time, the Divisional Events also had gold sponsors: PUC-Rio – IAG (PUC-Rio Business School), ESPM – Master’s and Doctoral Programs, MackenzieFIA Business School, and Insper.

The support of these institutions reflected recognition of the academic community’s role and the impact of management research on society, strengthening connections among people, scientific output, and opportunities in the field.

ANPAD thanks all participants on this journey. We look forward to seeing you again in 2027!
