ANPAD participates in the European Academy of Management (EURAM) Conference

April – June 2023 Edition | Volume 3, Issue 2

In June, ANPAD participated in the 23rd EURAM Conference. The event took place from June 14 to 16, 2023, and was organized by the European Academy of Management – EURAM, a partner of ANPAD. Our president, Professor Peci, was invited to represent ANPAD at the conference and meet with presidents of other partner organizations to discuss inclusion in the academies of management.

Since 2020, ANPAD and EURAM implemented a Dual Membership Plan to collaborate, interact, and promote the common goals of both organizations through an open exchange of ideas. EURAM was founded to advance research in management within Europe. Its members hail from 60 countries in Europe and beyond, and the organization offers opportunities for members to engage and develop discussions on various research topics in the field. We are immensely proud to partner with such a prestigious organization.

During the conference, Professor Peci attended two meetings with other representatives of partner organizations to discuss how academies of management can work to advance the inclusion of young academics, especially those who are underprivileged. These meetings fostered enriching discussions and innovative ideas to promote inclusion in academia.

In addition to the conference, Professor Peci also represented ANPAD in another event organized by EURAM, the Key Volunteers Networking Event, which took place on June 14.

Here is what Professor Peci had to say about the experience:

“During the meeting, we shared ANPAD’s experience with the project ‘ANPAD Inclusiva’ (Inclusive ANPAD) and brainstormed future projects to promote inclusion in academia. Among the key projects discussed with associations such as AOM, EURAM, and other divisional and regional peers, we debated the importance of collaborating with regional events through academic workshops, the role of subsidized registration for underprivileged groups, and the dynamics of the academic job market, among others. It was enlightening to observe ANPAD’s pioneering role in inclusion strategies vis-à-vis our international counterparts.”

EURAM 2023 brought together more than 30 Brazilian researchers and was a significant forum for dialogue and exchange for our academic community.
