Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) has been transforming various fields of knowledge, creating both opportunities and challenges for scientific research. To further this discussion, researchers Rafael Cardoso Sampaio, Marcelo Sabbatini, and Ricardo Limongi have released the e-book “Guidelines for the Ethical and Responsible Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence: A Practical Guide for Researchers.”

This publication aims to demystify GAI by presenting its operational principles, limitations, and risks, such as algorithmic biases and its impact on privacy and academic integrity. Additionally, the guide establishes fundamental principles and guidelines for the ethical use of this technology in scientific research, emphasizing the preservation of human agency and ethically guided applications.

Designed for researchers, universities, and scientific institutions, the e-book positions GAI as a complementary tool for knowledge production, promoting a collaborative approach and encouraging the sovereign development of Artificial Intelligence in Brazil.
