ESPM, recognized for its excellence in marketing and business innovation, has announced the launch of its Scientific and Technological Institute (ICT) — a milestone in the institution’s trajectory that strengthens the integration between academia, the market, and society. The new institute is part of ESPM’s Technological Innovation Center (NIT) and is established as the school’s main hub for innovation and knowledge transfer.
The launch took place on October 8th, 2025, in an event that brought together representatives from FAPESP, FINEP, market executives, and institutional leaders, including Dalton Pastore, President of ESPM, and Tatsuo Iwata, Academic Vice President.
According to Priscila Rezende da Costa, coordinator of ICT NIT, the institute was created with the purpose of promoting applied research, technological development, and social impact, providing an environment conducive to innovation in partnership with companies, startups, and public and private institutions.
Focused on strategic areas in which ESPM is already a reference — such as Creative Economy, Trade Marketing, Consumer Studies, ESG, Fashion, and Luxury — the ICT aims to foster the development of new business models, products, services, and consumer experiences, connecting academic research to real market demands.
The ICT also opens opportunities for strategic partnerships, allowing organizations to propose innovation challenges, sponsor research, support graduate fellowships, and develop joint projects with the institution’s research groups. The center provides legal and regulatory support on topics such as intellectual property, patents, and cooperation agreements.
The Technological Innovation Center (NIT), to which the institute is linked, is responsible for managing innovation policies, supporting the creation of startups and spin-offs, and promoting initiatives with a positive impact on society — strengthening ESPM’s research and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
