FGV opens applications for the CNPq/TWAS – UNESCO Selection Process

The Fundação Getúlio Vargas – São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) is now accepting applications for its Academic PhD Programs in Business Administration and Public Administration and Government. This opportunity is exclusively for researchers from developing countries who are interested in obtaining the CNPq/TWAS – UNESCO scholarship for full-time PhD studies in Brazil, with an expected start in the second semester of 2025 or the first semester of 2026. 

The program is part of the CNPq/UNESCO/TWAS initiative, formalized through a Cooperation Agreement between CNPq and TWAS, signed in January 2024. Since its creation in 2004, this partnership has promoted scientific and technological collaboration between developing countries, with a focus on the natural sciences. The aim is to train researchers, drive scientific and technological development in strategic areas, and strengthen the internationalization of Brazilian universities. 

The Academic PhD in Business Administration offers six research areas, with one available position in each: 

  • Administration, Analysis, and Information Technology; 
  • Business Strategy; 
  • Marketing; 
  • Organizational Studies; 
  • Operations Management and Sustainability; 
  • Finance. 

The Academic PhD in Public Administration and Government offers three research areas, each with one available position: 

  • Public Sector Policy and Economics; 
  • Government and Civil Society; 
  • State Transformations and Public Policies. 

Applications for the selection process must be submitted online exclusively, between November 12 and December 11, 2024, through the official FGV website. Applicants may submit their applications in either Portuguese or English, according to their preference.
