CAPES Promotes 1st Meeting to Strengthen Graduate Studies in the Northern Region

The Federal University of Roraima (UFRR) and the State University of Roraima (UERR) will host, on November 28, 2024, the 1st CAPES Meeting to Strengthen Graduate Studies in the Northern Region. The event, organized by CAPES, aims to engage with educational and research institutions in the region to encourage the creation of new graduate programs (APCN) in priority areas, aiming to reduce regional inequalities. 

The meeting will be attended by the Director of Evaluation of CAPES, Antonio Gomes de Souza Filho, who will address the importance of expanding graduate studies in the Northern region. In addition, important area coordinators of CAPES will be present, such as Professor Ivanise Maria Rizzatti, from the Education Area, Professor Hamida Assunção Pinheiro, from the Social Work Area, Professor Marciane Magnani, from the Food Science Area, and Professor Márcio Machado, from the Public Administration and Business, Accounting and Tourism Area. 

Aimed at rectors, vice-rectors for research and graduate studies, and faculty members of educational and research institutions in the Northern region, the event seeks to stimulate the proposal of new courses that meet regional demands.
