The president of the Women’s Entrepreneurship and Culture Council (CMEC), Ana Claudia Badra Cotait, met with the Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, to discuss public policies aimed at strengthening women’s entrepreneurship in Brazil. The meeting emphasized the need for initiatives that drive the country’s economic and social development, placing women at the center of this advancement.

During the meeting, Ana Claudia presented seven strategic proposals, including the creation of credit lines with reduced interest rates and public guarantees to facilitate the financing of small businesses, tax burden reduction, fiscal incentives, and the adjustment of the revenue cap for Simples Nacional. The goal of these measures is to remove barriers and expand opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

Minister Alckmin highlighted the actions already implemented by the Ministry, with a focus on the “neo-industrialization” program and the “Brasil Mais Produtivo” project, which has benefited more than 43,000 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in transitioning to Industry 4.0. These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to modernizing and enhancing the competitiveness of the productive sector.

In addition to advocating for women’s entrepreneurship, Ana Claudia shared CMEC’s trajectory, which is now active in 954 Brazilian municipalities, and detailed the entity’s internationalization plans. One of the strategies includes creating an exclusive program for women entrepreneurs, inspired by the model of Ceciex (Brazilian Council of Importing and Exporting Commercial Companies). According to her, CMEC reinforces its commitment to empowering and driving female entrepreneurs, fostering a fairer and more equitable business environment for women-led enterprises.

The meeting was facilitated by Laura Guaraciaba, administrative superintendent of the Alagoas state government and a supporter of women’s entrepreneurship. In addition to her and CMEC’s president, the meeting was attended by council members Beatriz Guimarães (DF), Izabel Mendes (MG), Vanilsa de Oliveira (SC), Kelly Rodrigues (RO), and Cléa Mascarenhas (AL).
