The Macromarketing Conference 2025 will be held for the first time in the Global South, bringing an innovative perspective and multiple viewpoints on markets and marketing. From June 22nd to 25th, researchers and academics will gather at the campus of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), at the IAG Business School, to discuss the theme Questioning markets and marketing: Advancing Macromarketing from multiple worldviews.”

The choice of Rio de Janeiro as the venue reinforces the importance of including different ontologies and epistemologies in the academic debate, promoting an exchange of knowledge between the Global South and North. PUC-Rio, one of Brazil’s leading academic institutions, and the IAG Business School, with its history of academic excellence, will provide an ideal environment for these discussions.

Markets and marketing play a central role in society, driving innovations and connecting consumers to products and services. However, their consequences also need to be critically analyzed, especially in developing countries, which are often left out of traditional academic debates. The event aims to expand this reflection and open space for new approaches to the impact of marketing on social well-being.

Submissions of papers and abstracts are open and can be sent until February 14th, 2025. There are 28 tracks available, covering many important Macromarketing issues. For more information, please visit the event’s website: Macromarketing Conference 2025 | IAG
